Camp Horsin’ Around Postpones Events, Opening Decision ‘Til May
By Julie McAllister, CHA Executive Director

PERRYVILLE, Ky., (April 9, 2020) – Due to the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 and instructions from Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and public health officials, the Camp Horsin’ Around Board of Directors and camp administration has made the decision to cancel or postpone spring events and reservations scheduled through May 31, 2020 to ensure the safety of its guests and staff.

“We have rescheduled two major fundraising events, the CHA Bourbon bottle fundraiser with Bluegrass Distillers, originally scheduled for April 25th to June 27th and the Amazing 8 community volunteer awards ceremony and luncheon, originally set for April 29th has been moved to July 14,” adds Executive Director Julie McAllister.

The mission of Camp Horsin’ Around is to support organized groups to provide an outdoor camping adventure for children whose health is compromised or who have special needs.  Camp Horsin’ Around is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization and does not receive state or federal funding, but depends on generous contributions from guests, friends and supporters.

With the cancellation of spring reservations and postponement of fundraising events the camp is in critical need, now more than ever, of donor support in the coming months until we can host camper groups again.  For information on how to make a tax-deductible gift, visit camphorsinaround.org
