Reports to: Camp Director
Compensation: $4,500 (10-Week Salary)
Associated benefits: On-site housing throughout the duration of contract. Meals provided while camper groups are present.
Participate as a member of the camp staff team to enable safe and fun use of facilities, activities, and other camp functions. In addition, be the main contact point for emergency and non-emergent services overnight for camp groups.
Essential Job Functions (General):
Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment.
• Communicate directly with Camp Director regarding repairs, services, and hospitality needs communicated by camp staff or camp groups daily.
• Accompany Camp Director, or other administrative staff, on facilities walk through upon camp group arrival and pre-departure facility checklist just prior to departure with camp group staff.
• Oversee camp and be a main contact point for camp groups during overnight hours.
• Clean and restock all restrooms and common areas.
• Clean outdoor and activity areas daily to remove hazards and debris.
• Set up activity areas and equipment as needed.
• Clean and store gear and equipment for future use.
• Keep pavilion and storage areas organized.
• Drive camp vehicles carefully and responsibly.
• Conduct a daily check and log of activity areas and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
• After securing the situation, report any needed service, supplies or repairs, damaged equipment, or other possible hazards to Camp Director promptly.
• Be able to demonstrate skills test in all activity areas.
Essential Job Functions (Pond/Creek):
• Assist campers and volunteers in accessing boating equipment.
• Ensure all campers are always secured in life vests at pond and enforce no swimming policy.
• Perform as the lifeguard, if certification is possessed, and boating/fishing instructor as needed.
• Ensure campers and volunteers follow safety procedures.
• Keep maintenance and check in/out documents up to date.
Essential Job Functions (Challenge Course):
• Assist campers with access to all challenge course elements and rock wall.
• Ensure all campers use proper spotting techniques while activity areas are in use.

Essential Job Functions (Archery):
• Assist campers with access to the archery range.
• Ensure all campers are using proper techniques while activity areas are in use.
• Ensure range rules are being followed.
• Keep maintenance and check in/out documents up to date.
Essential Job Functions (Pool):
• Assist campers and volunteers in accessing the pool.
• Supervise swimming sessions at the pool.
• Perform daily activities, test pool chemicals and vacuum, to ensure pool remains clear, clean, and usable.
• Ensure campers and volunteers follow pool rules.
• Keep maintenance and check in/out documents up to date.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Optional, but beneficial: Lifeguard certification.
• Training and experience in outdoor activities offered at the camp.
• Desire and ability to work outdoors around children.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
• Physical and emotional ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant monitoring of campers.
Physical requirements include: Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate waterfront equipment and activities. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Willingness to work irregular hours that align with camper visits. Operate under daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying water conditions.
