The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce kicked off its 2022-2023 Leadership Boyle County class with a retreat Camp Horsin’ Around in October. This is the second time they have held this event at the camp.
Jeff Jewel, Executive Director of the Chamber, said the camp was a perfect venue for what they wanted to accomplish with the group.
“We hope to continue using the camp in future years. The camp was clean, bright and cheerful and a perfect place for our team-building exercises both indoors and out. Our 18 participants particularly enjoyed the ropes course which was facilitated wonderfully by Joshua Manly. In fact, we added more time to that element as it was where everyone wanted to be on a crisp fall morning.”
Leadership Boyle County brings together professionals from across the community to develop their talents and energies and learn more about Boyle County’s strengths and opportunities. Participants learn about the area’s businesses and economic development, governmental, agriculture, healthcare and non-profit industries. Jewell said Camp Horsin’ Around offered a great place for the group to learn more about each other through team-building exercises.
“As always, the staff were an absolute pleasure to work with and added a lot to our gathering. From our kitchen teamwork exercise to S’mores in the beautiful outdoor pavilion, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would whole-heartedly recommend Camp Horsin’ Around for team-building retreats, perfect venue!”
