In celebration of the 1978 National Championship, one of our incredible founders, Phyllis Cronin, made a quilt featuring each player’s number and the coaches’ initials.

Phyllis shared her inspiration for this incredible quilt. “During the 77-78 basketball season I was totally immersed in the talent and entertainment this team provided. I was at every home game and glued to the TV for the away games.  I always loved having a project going, so I decided to do a blue and white quilt in honor of the players, the coaches and the final outcome of the season!”

What makes this quilt a must-have piece for a special Wildcat fan is that it is signed by each member of that team and coaching staff, including Joe B. Hall and Mr. Wildcat Bill Keightley. Jack “Goose” Givens and Kyle Macy, seen in the photos on the left, recently visited to view the quilt and attest to its authenticity.

Phyllis has generously donated this quilt to be raffled with the proceeds benefiting Camp Horsin’ Around’s mission. For only $50, you could take home a priceless piece of Wildcat memorabilia and support our amazing campers!
